Powder Characterization Masterclass

In this course, you will learn about characterization possibilities for powders and the benefits from using multiple techniques. The methods presented include: X-ray diffraction, particle sizing & imaging, specific surface measurements, gas pycnometry and powder rheology.

On the first day, X-ray diffraction and specific surface measurements along with gas pycnometry are on the agenda.
On the second day, particle sizing and imaging as well as powder rheology are in the focus of the workshop.
All topics are explained theoretically first and then followed by a hands-on session where the very same sample is tested via the different measurement techniques. The hands-on sessions come with a characterization guide to show the benefits of the individual methods and to highlight their synergies

Topics:

Theoretical part covering the basics of each measurement method
Explanation of the functionality of the individual measurement devices
Analysis and interpretation of measurement data
Hands-on training in the lab with identical samples for every measuring method.
