EURECA-PRO Doctoral School

Activity: Talk or presentation Invited talk

    Description

The EURECA-PRO Doctoral School connects doctoral candidates from the partner institutions of the EURECA-PRO Alliance, with a focus on promoting a shared understanding of SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and supporting the advancement of their international research careers.
Participating universities offer a wide range of events, training activities, and mobility programmes, including the Annual EURECA-PRO PhD Journey, the Annual Colloquium of Young Researchers (hosted by TU Bergakademie Freiberg), and regular PhD Seminars.

A core opportunity is participation in joint or double PhD programmes, where doctoral candidates are jointly supervised by two partner universities. The doctoral thesis is defended once and results in a single, jointly awarded doctoral degree, officially recognized by both institutions. This fosters international mobility, academic networking, and deeper research collaboration between the partner universities.

The Doctoral School is aligned with the European Competence Framework for Researchers. Participants are required to complete 15 credits (1 credit = 10 contact hours) in at least four of the seven framework clusters. Doctoral candidates can join if they are enrolled at a partner university, work on a topic linked to sustainability, climate, circularity, or responsible consumption, and are proficient in English for academic communication.

The EURECA-PRO Doctoral School provides structured academic development and a rich platform for international exchange, mobility, certification, and joint/double PhD opportunities.
