Abstract
The editorial introduces the European University on Responsible Consumption and Production - EURECA-PRO and explains some of the important achievements of the alliance since its foundation. In particular, the ambitions in terms of joint study programmes and educational activities, joint interdisciplinary research collaboration, Third Mission, Science Communication and interaction with society are discussed. These areas reflect the subject areas of this issue and thus introduce it.
