Abstract

Companies need to be competitive so one of their aims is to maximize the profit by reduc-ing the costs. One way to do so is to minimize the usage of resources e.g. efficiently use of man power and key assets. To be successful they need a good project management based on a well-structured disposition and resource management. As those processes become more and more complex the responsible managers have to do a very good job. Software can assist to do a better job in an easier way. Those solutions support by linking all information about projects, the resources needed and their disposition. The aim of this master thesis is to find a software solution for the special case of the Rohrer Group in their business field of industrial cleaning. It should support and improve their project and resource management. To find the right solutions a catalogue of criteria is created in cooperation with employees of the company. This catalogue has been used for the search of solutions via internet. The solutions that meet all the defined criteria for exclusion, are evaluated and compared within an utility analysis. The result of this master thesis is a recommendation for an appropriate software solution to fit the company’s special requirements. Additionally suggestions for further steps are given.
