Abstract
The increasing complexity and level of automation of assets and asset components make it difficult to choose the optimal maintenance strategy for them. Approaches for criticality and risk assessment, that dynamically evaluate the state of the asset in its life cycle stage and in the production environment, are influenced by both data quality and human decisions. In the following, both aspects will be considered and related to the approaches.
