Abstract
For the production of deoxidation-aluminium the company Hütte Klein-Reichenbach uses aluminium scrap. Due to changing of viscosity, surface tension and variations of the temperature as a function of charging and dross procedures appears a loss in quality, in terms of dual and multiple granules, and in clogging of nozzles. The aim of this work was to develop a nozzle which is unaffected by the fluctuation of the liquid melt and therefore it can be used for the production of consistent granules in shape and size. In a theoretical part the influence of changes in temperature, viscosity and surface tension on the quality of the aluminium granules was analyzed. To optimize the nozzles a theoretical knowledge due to modifications in geometry and temperature as well as a decrease of the aluminium melt turbulence and the application of a vibration equipment was investigated by practical experiments. Furthermore a mathematical model was developed which ensures granules with maximum weight by consistent shape. The results of the model were verified by practical experiments. Due to this investigations and calculations an increase of production and a decrease of granules with low quality was achieved.
