Abstract
The flow of material causes a huge of primary costs of a product. Therefore economic efficiency and competitiveness of a company are directly influenced by material flow. It is not just because of that reason that the topic of the flow of material both in education and in practises of great importance. To establish a higher relationship between theoretical backgrounds and practice work in education it is necessary to adopt case studies as a didactic method for volunteers. With this method students get motivated to search for alternatives, work out solutions autonomously or discuss existing results. This thesis has the goal to offer case studies about the flow of material for students both of technical and economic courses of studies to permit comprehensive transfer of knowledge from universities into industrial practice. To reach that goal the first chapter contains a classification and description of the different methods, which apply later on in the case studies. Furthermore some aspects are explained which you have to take into consideration when you create case studies. In the first chapter methods which are later applied in the case study are classified and described. Furthermore it is explained which aspects are of importance when developing case studies. With regard to both of these basic principles the case study Best Bike Frames A Case Study on the Management of the Flow of Material was developed and described in detail.
