Abstract

The salt for medical appliances is a very pure product and the adding of an anti-caking agent to the salt is not allowed. Because of this fact the salt hardens under usual storage conditions. The aim of this diploma thesis was to conduct a testing appliance, through which the hardening parameters should be evaluated and measured. A standardized exposure helps to survey the hardening characteristics of the salt and shortens the test periods. The tested parameters contain variations of the humidity, impurities, grain sizes, grain form as well as storage and manipulating conditions. In addition to that pallets had to be tested to demonstrate, if the hardening of the salt bags depends on parameters like the storage period, climatic conditions and the arrangement of the bags on the pallet.
