Abstract
This doctoral thesis presents two new transportation systems that substitute an existing roller conveyor between two machines in the production line for the manufacturing of seamless tubes. The benefit of the two new systems is the fact that if one of them is implemented in the production line there will be a huge reduction of surface defects on the seamless tubes and therefore the product quality of the tubes will rise. After the analysis of the existing roller conveyor and the identification of the transport parameters the invention of a new transportation system took place. The new system is a combination of a roller coaster and a cable railway. The synthesis of both systems creates a transportation system that unites the advantages of both single systems and therefore fulfils all parameters required for the transportation without creating surface defects. The second new transportation system contains contains rising and falling rolls that carry the transportation goods in waves from the one machine to the next. This method fulfils the recommended parameters for transportation too and brings no surface defect in the seamless tubes.
