Abstract
Explosion prevention is an important part of the process and plant safety. On the part of economy and legislation there are the constant efforts to advance the development in this area. One of the focus research of the Chair for Thermal Processing Technology covers the influence of inert material on explosion behavior. In this thesis the drying kinetics of porous inert material (Zeoliths) is investigated. This is done by analyzing the drying behavior and the release of water vapor in a thermogravimetric analysis system. The suitability for use in explosion prevention should be assessed and the technology is placed in the current state of the science. Problems and opportunities for improvement are identified and opportunities for future research activities are estimated.
