Abstract
The aim of this Diploma-Thesis is to optimise the torsional testing properties of the combined torsion testing and friction welding device situated at the Chair of Metalforming, as to guaran-tee a continuous and reproducible conduction of hot and cold torsion testing series. After an optimisation phase during which, among other measures taken, preliminary tests were em-ployed to determine suitable modes of operation of the plant, a test series conducted with AA 6060 is utilized to demonstrate the methodology of testing, interpretation and presentation of the results. To verify the findings a test series with the same parameters is carried out on a servo-hydraulic hot forming device followed by a comparison of the results.
