    Abstract

    This work deals with the mining of ores and minerals in Austria. The raw materials iron, tungsten, gold, silver and china clay and their baseminerals will be considered. The conditioning of the raw materials is described and the various procedure are presented. Further the basic conditions for the use oft this raw materials on the secondary raw material market will be provided. The price trend since the year 1980 and the supply situation is also a part aof this work. The reserves, resources, and the lifetime oft the global and national mining industry will be compared. The characteristics of the raw materials and their use and occurrence in Austria will be figured.
