Abstract

This thesis shows an example based on the voestalpine Wire Technology GmbH, how strategic production program planning could be implemented. The first chapter of the thesis deals with the issue of centralization. In this context, influencing variables and motives of centralization and decentralization on and from organizations are described. Subsequently, the theoretical fundamentals of strategic production program planning are discussed. One core area of this chapter is capacity planning and capacity adjustment. In the second part of the thesis, a global capacity planning is described, which is carried out at voestalpine Wire technology GmbH. Therefore, a model has been developed which aims to adjustment the capacities and identify possible bottlenecks. Furthermore, it should serve as an aid for the determination for investment activities. For this purpose, an exemplary scenario was established which shows a possible future scenario of voestalpine Wire Technology GmbH.
