Abstract
The project addresses the issues of cleaning vertical oil storage tanks used at pumping stations, oil storage facilities of bases and refineries, and transshipment terminals. The need to clean tanks is caused not only by the requirements to preserve their useful effective volume and maintain the purity of the product, which are aimed at preventing the accumulation of bottom sediment but also by the regulatory and technical documents of the industry for maintenance and diagnostics. For example, tanks of pumping stations of main oil pipelines, depending on their age, are subject to a full diagnostic examination every 5-10 years. In certain cases, such as storing high-waxy solidifying and heavy high-viscosity oils, as well as for corrosive raw materials, cleaning with complete decommissioning may be required much earlier than required by regulations. Another important practical task, where in addition to degassing and full recovery of volume, high quality cleaning is required, is the transfer of stations of main oil pipelines for pumping high-quality motor fuels. It should be noted that this issue in the future becomes particularly relevant with the increase in the capacity of modern deep processing plants for both the domestic and external export markets. The development of the sea export route, as well as the still widely used railway transport of oil and fuel oil is also related to the need to maintain the useful volume and cleanliness of tanks of ships and railway tanks. The aim of this work is to develop comprehensive technologies for effective safe cleaning of tanks and vessels from bottom sediments crude and commercial oil to solve task their full technical inspection and transfer to storage of light oil products that meet the minimum logistical overhead costs and higher environmental standards. As an additional task, we also solve the problem of high-quality cleaning of tanks and containers without their depressurization with minimal downtime. Unlike existing schemes and methods of cleaning, the developed technology is based on the use of modified chemical methods of washing with the use of magnetic and ultrasonic cavitation treatment. Special attention is paid to the possibility of reducing the cost of chemical washing methods. As part of the work, a deep analysis of existing and widely used methods for cleaning oil storage tanks from deposits of various types was performed, including a patent study of the issue, a literature review of both scientific articles and regulatory documents on topics close to the problem, as well as an analysis of modern and advanced world experience of operating and service companies. Experimental laboratory studies were performed to select the most effective parameters of the developed cleaning technology.
