Abstract
This master thesis deals with putting a galvanizing simulator into service and the transfer into operating state. This involved numerous annealing and galvanising tests to determine advantageous operating conditions for the wetting of steel. This process is one of the decisive factors in the production of high quality zinc coating. A substantial part oft the work involves finding the factors that influence the wetting behaviour of steel surfaces and their systematic testing. As a result of the experimental tests the operating parameters of the galvanizing simulator could be defined. Consequently the functionality of the galvanizing simulator is proven. The simulator accurately replicates the industrial processes of continous hot dip galvanizing.
