Abstract

The aim of this diploma thesis was to investigate the morphological characteristics of a Close Fit Reliner pipe. These pipes are used for the trenchless renovation of existing pipe systems. For the characterisation of the morphological properties the dynamic-mechanical analysis (DMA), the thermo-mechanical analysis (TMA), the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used. Additionally the aging behaviour was investigated by oxygen induction time (OIT) and IR-spectroscopy. The results of the DMA showed different mechanical behaviour for the probes from the inner, middle and outer position. So the stiffness increased from the inner position to the outer position. Between the circumferential postions no differences were found. The redeformed pipe always had the higher mechanical properties. In the thermal extension behaviour the greatest differences were found at the redeformed pipe for the thermal extension in circumferential direction. The analysis of the crystallinity showed an increase from the inner postions to the outer positions. The results also showed that in comparision to the redeformed pipe the undeformed pipe had the higher crystallinity. The results of the aging analysis (OIT an IR-spectroscopy) showed no aging effects for both pipes.
