    Abstract

    Worldwide, belt conveyors are used as the most efficient way of conveying bulk material and general cargo because of their steady-state method of operation. If a system is utilized with the mass flow to be conveyed, a second parallel running system will be installed alongside. The purpose of this diploma thesis is to show that it´s possible to operate two parallel systems one upon the other. A comparison with common designs shows the commercial advantages of this new system. Before the implementation of this comparative study, a matching concept is developed and illustrated by drawings of selected parts of the plant. With the construction of an experimental rig the functionality is verified and behaviors are examined at this new constellation.
