Abstract
As part of a pre-feasibility for a dolomite mining in Schwarz Tyrol for the Brixlegg Montanwerke the realities of the underground mining will be illuminated. For this purpose the environmental and socio-technical aspects, under which an extraction of mineral resources in the alpine area is possible, were addressed. After taking the surface conditions, the location and shape of the dolomite body as well as the strength of the deposit into account a sublevel stoping mining process has been chosen. The preliminary sizing of the chambers and pillars was carried out with the help of semi-empirical method of Laubscher and Mathews. For the calculation of the pillars simulations were conducted using the numerical code Examine2D. With these considerations in place, a planning using Surpac, as well as an interpretation of the requisite machinery was conducted.
