Abstract

In the first part of this master thesis a short introduction in photovoltaic is given. Followed by the basic knowledge of physical aspects of light and solar radiation, variables which influence the amount of produced energy are determined. Different solar cells and further on the state of the art of solar components are discussed.
The main part deals with the realisation of the 9,36 kW peak grid-connected solar-system. First a rough estimation of the amount of electricity which can by produced, is given. Afterwards the design of all solar-system components, like solar module field, power conversion system, string box, wiring and measuring system is done. This section is followed by a detailed documentation of the practical installation of all components. Technical drafts and task flow charts are attached.
Second, a cash flow analysis and further non economic investigations are made to describe the economic and social value of such a system.
The final part deals with the analysing of the long-term data, logged by a personal computer. Efficiency of the solar module field, the power conversion system and the overall efficiency is determined. Furthermore, different influencing effects on efficiency are analyzed in respect of improvements of the system.
