This master thesis focuses the in the periphery of the order processing of a company performed production planning. The production planning deals with the planning of the fabricated products and the production processes. Based on the resource offer of the manufacturing and the demand of the customers the determination of the production flow takes place. The interchange of these indications between particular departments of the company and with the purchasers is often influenced by disruptions due to mangling coordinated planning processes and IT-systems. The aim of this master thesis is therefore the improvement of the coordination and the generation of internal and external consistency between the two components. To attain this objective the process and system integrated configuration of the production planning is aspired. The approach in the master thesis starts with an explanation and differentiation of the topic of the production planning. Subsequent goals for the production planning are defined and with the aid of literature-known key figures a basis of valuation for the PP is generated. To achieve consistency between the processes and the systems of the production planning of a company suggestions for the integrated configuration are made by means of the approach of the hierarchical production planning. The evaluation of the obtainable advancements follows with the defined key figures. Finally the results of the theoretical part of the master thesis are apportioned among a specific example of the practice. For the steel company voestalpine Stahl Donawitz GmbH & Co KG suggestions for an integrated configuration of the production planning are worked out and the attainable improvements surveyed.
