Abstract
In this Masterthesis moulds for the centrifugal casting process of Ti6Al4V alloy were built from CaZrO3, to investigate optimum casting parameters and to minimize surface reactions between alloy and shell moulds. After successful initial optimization for the mould production casting parameters were tailored within the overall process. Improved casting parameters facilitated a reduction of surface reactions between the Ti6Al4V melt and the CaZrO3 mould material. Subsequently, it was possible to detect an improvement of mechanical properties. Moreover, with a suitable heat treatment after the casting process, it is also possible to improve the mechanical properties.
