    Abstract

The reengineering of the quality management system ISO 9001:2000 and the environmental management systems ISO 14001:1996 and EMAS II in a paper producing company is the aim of this diploma thesis. The driving force and the background of the reengineering are based on changed requirements in quality and environmental standards, as well as changes in management concept structures, for instance process orientation and integration. At the beginning, the character of the existing management system was a semi integrated system with a large amount of paperdocuments. By using a softwareapplication (Qualiware Lifecycle Manager) for the supported creation of digital documents, many former paper-documents could be changed into digital-documents including process orientation. To reach the goal of including working-instructions into the system, a separately document-management-system (DMS) was created. By doing an ecological assessment for the company, the ability of continuous improvement in the field of environmental performance could be established.
