Abstract

Several testing parameters of NACE Standard TM0177 have been investigated. A decreasing initial crack length and increasing arm displacement causes an increasing KIAPPLIED and KISSC value. The chevron and EDM notched specimens show same results with the same initial crack length and arm displacement. Furthermore the influence of the microalloying elements Nb, V, Ti and B as well as the heat treatment has been investigated regarding SSC resistance of C110 grades. Fine globular carbides were obtained in alloys containing Nb. An increasing hardness causes decreasing KISSC values. SSC resistant C110 grades were obtained due to an optimized heat treatment. Microstructure shall consist of tempered martensite with a high yield strength/tensile strength ration.
