    Abstract

A wheel loader is a machine that is basically used to handle bulk materials with its bucket. If it is used in the mining industry, a problem occurs during the loading process. It is hard to handle the material in a mine due to the high resistance of the bulk material. In this master thesis, concepts for a better loading process were developed by the usage of the data of the L566 wheel loader from Liebherr. To make this process more comfortable, a second movement of the mast or bucket was added to the existing one. The energy, which is used to power the concepts, was calculated to compare the concepts to each other. Afterwards one of the designs was chosen to test it during the loading process in real life. The tests are used to adjust the system and to check if it works correctly. Finally the loading processes with and without the new system will be compared to one another. Then the data is analyzed to verify the effects on the process.
