Abstract
For occupational safety-related reasons, adjustment, maintenance, and cleaning work, as well as remedial work, are not allowed to be performed on operating work equipment. Companies have to make an effort to reduce that claim to practice. The aim of this thesis in a paper company is the illustration and description of the systematic lockout and tagout of machines and equipment. This is shown with a concrete example of the coating system on a paper machine. It is essential to collect which plant areas are shut down in case of the operation of several contactors and which still contain energy. So it is possible to find out which components contain risks like movements or heat. Respectively, contactors which have to be operated in order to shut down certain parts of the machine should be detected. The results of this study and the documents of the survey should be integrated into the established management system. Furthermore, according to the appropriate work instructions, the companys employees must be able to apply this systematic to their areas.
