    Abstract

The following thesis deals with twisting mechanisms for mounting devices. There are various manufacturing-support-tools, which are used for assembly of componente parts in batch production. These tools, which are used to assemble, to lathe, to move and turn parts, have to be reliable and of great precision. Twisting mechanisms is what they all have in common. These mechanisms are based on a constant alterning of a move and halt motion. We hereby refer to this as a non-iniform transmission. The aim of this diploma thesis is to search for a twisting mechanism for mounting devices, which will operate at a give angle position. Furhter on the sought-after device will be modeled using 3D-Solidworks. The first part of the thesis will present an overview of relevant hydraulic, pneumatic and elektric systems. Advantages and disadvantages will also be discussed. The second part will discuss a few examples of present stepping gears that can be used as twisting mechanism. The geneva mechanism and the curving stepping gear will be discussed. In the final part recommendations concerning the twisting mechanism with rolling beam and the pneumatic or hydraulic twisting mechanism with double action cylinder will be made, explained and modeled.
