Abstract

The application of sprayed segments in tunnel construction as a test method for Fibre reinforced sprayed concrete (FRSpC) is the subject of the present work. Four segments were examined, which were produced on site. This made it possible to simulate the conditions on site and possible complications during the construction phase. The tubbing form was positioned in a safe distance behind the working face. The FRSpC was placed in the formwork of the segments with the help of the shotcrete unit. This was followed by storage on site, then transport of the hardened tubbing to the testing facility of MUL in Niklasdorf, where the tubbings were tested after 28 days. Parallel to this, the production of sprayed shotcrete panels was in progress, carried out by VBE. Ident to the tubbings, the testing took place after 28 days. Both the results of the tubbings and the results of the panel test are presented in this paper. Finally, the results of the two test methods were compared.
